The garden, developed in partnership with Beth’s Sunflowers charity, Hannah Thomas Garden Design, Jack Moody Nursery and Hollybush Garden Centre, was designed as a heartfelt tribute to Beth, a young woman who passed away from Leukaemia. The space combines powerful symbolism and vibrant planting to celebrate her life and raise awareness of blood cancer.
Key Features:
The finished garden became far more than a showcase installation; it became a powerful platform for Beth’s Sunflowers, helping to share the charity’s message with thousands of visitors throughout BBC Gardeners’ World Live. Every aspect of the design was created to celebrate the sunflower as a symbol of hope, strength and positivity, while telling Beth’s story in a meaningful and accessible way.
The response from the public was overwhelming, with the garden awarded both a Platinum medal and the People’s Choice Award. Most importantly, the project helped raise more than
£4,000 for Beth’s Sunflowers, directly supporting the charity’s ongoing fundraising efforts and extending the reach of its mission far beyond the show itself.
