We continue to invest in the renewables market, researching and developing ground-breaking new techniques and processes
Sustainability
The group of companies that comprise Jack Moody Holdings Plc are primarily involved with landscaping, civil engineering and associated industries
They accept that, due to the very nature of their business, their day to day schedules will have a material effect on the environment. On that basis, it is commendable that the environment, as an issue, is the main topic of many meetings and discussions.
The concern the directors have for today’s world and future generations is illustrated by the guidance issued to the employees and contractors.
The Company Directors decided to endorse their attitude to this vitally important subject by ensuring that all employees, outside contractors and clients are made aware of the company’s commitment to preserving the natural environment, by issuing a mission statement supported by a policy of intent.
Mission Statement
All companies that form part of Jack Moody Holdings Plc are committed to design, construct, and maintain, all projects with which they are involved in a manner which is conducive to the preservation and enhancement of the environment both now and in the future.
Policy of Intent
Reducing our carbon footprint
Further to over £1m of recent investment in new electric / hybrid vehicles and plant, we are increasing our focus on improving our fuel economy and reducing carbon footprint. We continuously invest in our plant, fleet and logistics to reduce emissions, investing in new more efficient equipment but also new technologies such as RoadTrak, our smart vehicle routing software.
Recent Transport Initiatives further reduce our footprint:
We continuously strive to reduce our energy consumption across our businesses and 2018 we installed solar panels on all of the large buildings in our group, giving over 1,200kVA of generation capacity.
This compliments our biomass and air-source heating systems that are already in use in buildings across the group companies.
Positive interaction with the local community reduces labour, plant and transport costs, thus improving our carbon footprint and Key Performance Indicators. For instance, 73% of our landscape work force is employed from within a 10-mile radius of our headquarters. When working on any site we actively attempt to stay local with any employment opportunities that may arise.
