Overview
We are seeking dedicated Soft Landscaping Operatives to join our team, responsible for maintaining and enhancing outdoor environments across various sites. This role offers an opportunity to work outdoors in a dynamic setting, applying your skills in landscape maintenance and horticulture. The successful candidate will be committed to delivering high-quality service and ensuring the aesthetic and functional quality of landscaped areas.

Duties

• Undertaking site preparation: Clearing, cultivating and improving soil.
• Planting: Installing trees, shrubs, herbaceous plants and bulbs according to design plans
• Turfing and seeding: Laying turf and sowing grass seed for lawns and installing meadow areas
• Maintenance: Providing initial aftercare, including watering, weeding, pruning and applying fertiliser
• Operate mechanical equipment and power tools safely and efficiently for tasks like digging, trenching, and soil preparation.
• Site Management: Clearing rubbish, maintaining paths and ensuring safety procedures are followed.
• Support team members in specialised tasks requiring horticultural knowledge or technical expertise.

Skills

• Proven experience in soft landscaping or horticulture.
• Understanding of contract documents and drawing
• Mechanical knowledge related to operating machinery.
• Excellent awareness of Health & Safety and experience implementing Health & Safety policies and procedures
• Strong organisational skills with the capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Experience implementing quality standards and working to customer specifications
• Knowledge of gardening practices, plant care, and general horticultural principles.
• Strong customer care skills and the ability to represent the company professionally
• Physical fitness to perform outdoor work in various weather conditions, including lifting heavy equipment or materials when necessary.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Evidence of continuous improvement and problem-solving ability
